What to look for in a bread maker machine

Whether you're comparing your first automatic bread maker or replacing an old one, a few things separate a genuinely useful machine from a basic one:

• Loaf size options. A single fixed size means baking too much or too little - our range spans single-size compact machines up to 1.5kg-capacity models.
• Number of programs. Plain bread machines run a handful of settings. A wider range (sourdough, gluten-free, jam, yogurt, cake) means one machine does more of your baking, not just loaves.
• An automatic dispenser. Adding fruit and nuts by hand mid-cycle is fiddly and easy to get wrong - some of our range has a timed dispenser that adds them automatically.
• Delay timer and keep-warm. A delay timer means fresh bread when you wake up; a keep-warm function stops it going cold before you get to it.
